Weak adaptation

Posted : 16 years, 4 months ago on 6 January 2008 06:07 (A review of Alone in the Dark)

Like many who saw the movie, I was a huge fan of the game with the same name. The games (especially the first) had an involving atmosphere capable of making you actually be afraid when playing late at night with lights off.

Then, it came the movie. A weak attempt at making a movie spinning off the story presented in the fourth installment, there's no single element in the movie capable of involving the audience.

The acting is poor, the story is presented without coherence and even the "special effects" are bad.

There are movies that are so bad, you can at least laugh at them. This is not the case. This movies is even worse than that and it is actually a torture to watch it down to the end.

Two thumbs down.
